DI Buchan Book 5 - Paperback Out Now

Added at 11:56 on 05 December 2023

In publishing news, the fifth book in the DI Buchan series, the crime fiction extravaganza that critics are already calling “just another Glasgow-based detective whatever, blah blah blah”, is out in paperback. The e-book remains scheduled for release on Monday, 11th December.

Global marketing strategists are questioning why the paperback has been released one week prior to the e-book, but reports coming from inside LMP HQ in Gstaad suggest that there is no actual reason. The rationale is so vague, so pure in its lack of definition, that it’s almost science.

In other news, leaked reports from music insiders indicate that Douglas Lindsay’s top five Spotify artists for the year are George Harrison, Bob Dylan, REM, the Oscar Peterson Trio and Norah Jones.

"To be honest," said Professor Malcolm Connery of the Glasgow Institute of Special Things, "this is a little disappointing, and shows a total lack of character development."

Analysts say that with this kind of musical taste stagnation, with the introduction of Oscar Peterson suggesting actual regression, that next year’s list could well feature Bing Crosby and Bix Beiderbecke, and by 2030 we can expect to see Hildegard of Bingen make a push for the top spot.

Lindsay was unavailable for comment.

Thanks for the early Christmas present, Douglas - I noticed that the paperback versions had been published (don't care for the e-books, sorry - I like holding real things in my hands) - so copies ordered for me and my father-in-law.

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you and yours and everyone at LMP.

P.S. Already added "The Last Great Detective" to my wish list.

Thanks for the orders!

I kind of agree on books, but since Hutton was originally published only digitally, that's where most of my readership comes from these days. It is, as the sports coaches say, what it is...

Merry Christmas to you too! 🎄 Have a good one.
